Mountain States teaching position opening
February 10, 2011

Gary Eastman our full time instructor/assistant director of our Utah training center has announced he will be retiring mid-year.  We are taking applications for this position now.  If you are, or know anyone who may be interested in this rewarding job, please have them send me a resume to the address below.  All resumes need to be in the Midvale office no later than February 24, 2011.  They will be reviewed February 25th and interviews will tentatively be set for March 11th.  Hire date will be between April 1 and April 15th. 

This is a full time salaried position with great benefits that include Lineco health and welfare, 8th District pension and annuity, NEBF, sick leave, holidays and vacation.   The job is part classroom, pole yard instruction and prep for apprentice classes held three weekends a month,  and pre-employment orientations.  The job requires being a mentor as well as a disciplinarian.   Journeyman upgrade classes to include but not limited to OSHA 10, rigging and signalman, first aid/CPR, transformers, pole, bucket, and vault rescue, etc.  Will assist in the administration of journeyman exams, attend subcommittee meetings and other meetings when asked, attend job fairs, make crew visits, attend staff development classes such as the National Training Institute.   This job requires many evenings and weekends and travel, and is not considered a regular 8:00AM to 5:00PM job.  This position is an extension of the directors authority, and is the first line to the apprentices and the industry.
